Uncle Milton Star Theater Pro Bought this for my 5 year old son who is obsessed with all things related to space and wants to be an astronaut when he grows up. He loves it!
The package comes with two image disks. One is a star field (perhaps the Milky way?). The other contains a picture of the sun, moon, and the Earth (each body appears to be of roughly of the same size, so not shown in strict natural proportion or perspective). The company also sells directly a set of two more disks for about .
The projection globe has buttons that allow you to set up the images to rotate very slowly (we always have that on) as well as options to shut off automatically after 30 or 60 minutes (careful about using these. The second night I used the 60 minute shutoff and my son started crying that it stopped working exactly 60 minutes later!).
One thing to be aware is that despite the packaging, this is really a slide projector. This means that if it is not aimed straight at the projection surface and properly focused, the images will appear distorted and/or blurry. Before buying consider where you would be placing it. I try to place the projector pointing straight up to the ceiling on top of a box. My wife is not bothered by the distorted image so much, and places it on dresser, angled to point above my son’s bed.

Chessex Dice: Pound of Dice (Pound-O-Dice) Approximately 100 Die What pound of Dice Product really is, is the less that satisfied products of dice that someone, somewhere made and rejected down the product line. Thats not to say that the dice your gonna get is gonna look like trash, but there will be slight errors.

I got half color dice where the color splatted onto the other side [example haveing blue and red with a blue splat of color on the side of the red part of the dice]. Thus losing perhaps the even sided colors that the company wanted.

Take speckled dice where the evenness of dotted colors might overpower the full colored dice. Say that 10 is a pure blue while the number 8 gets a heavy dose of black to the point that its almost pure black instead of haveing that light spray paint/speckled look to it.

Also if the dots or numbers on the dice are bad they will also be in this list. I got ONE dot that has a thick block inside of it that makes the dug in part of the dice unreachable. I see that the paint might be too thick, or might run out. Also the color around the dot/number might have melted into those markings.

Overall Pound of Dice is a collection of dice that didnt get the A+ ranking. They can be low as C- to just a nice B+. I think the two color dice are about the most outright “Failed” product that I got. It still looks nice, but I think the business but a outright reject unto such a mistake. The bags are random and I got I think at lest 3 complete sets maybe 4 of D4, D6, D8, D10 marked by 1/2/3, D10 marked by 10/20/30, D12, and D20.

Oh and i got a complete set of those dice as well in a little brown bag. SO overall I got about 5 complete sets. Lots of D-20’s in mine as well. So your gonna get at lest 2 complete sets. Because there has to be at lest one set of dice with those in the bag, and the free complete “7-die polyhedral set of special range of speckled dice only in the pound-o-dice.” Quote per quote there. Which mine is a nice spooky white with red spots. Almost alien white skined with blood specks on it. Nice touch. Note that I did get a few styles of dice having from two to three of the same. One is really nice since the 6 place is replaced with a Axe. Two blues and one white of that style. I did get three of the same D20 of white and purple specks.

Overall buy for random dice and for large groups of DnD, make these your “ya you can barrow this one. Im not afraid to lose it” dice. Or just the random dice bag at some board game place that needs odd side dice.

You can solve the various puzzle variations, or just let your hands wander
and see the shifts in shapes and configuration unfold.

It tends to be more “durable” once you have a few minutes
to get the “feel” of it (rotating sections & pieces
& not forcing anything).

The only times the Twist seems to break are when some someone unused
to this “feel” applies too much force on a section *in the wrong direction* in
the 1st minute or so of use. I’ve seen both 4-year old kids and 47-year old adults do this.

Weazel Ball – The Weasel rolls with ball The first time I saw this toy was years ago. I thought this was just another of those stupid idea of a toy. It just a ball with tail on it. Actually there is another version that has just a tail protruding from the ball, this one has the whole weasel complete with the body, eyes and nose. So I said, “what a lame idea”.

I saw this before in front of KB Toys with the tumbling and barking dogs. When my 5 year old son saw this last week at a mall, he and was so glued to it. He stayed there for 10 minutes and says he really wanted it. The guy told me he is selling it for 11$ I remember that this toy sells for much cheaper than that and what really annoyed me was the guy obviously trying to take advantage of my son’s fascination on it. He would take 1 dollar less and that was it. I was able to convinced my son that he will get if for his birthday and so we walked out. In short I looked online and saw this at a much reasonable price.

The power button is outside. To open it, you need to rotate the ball with your hands on opposite direction. It just needs a single “AA” battery that requires a screwdriver to open the battery compartment. Good to have an instruction on the box as there are multiple screws but you need to remove only 1 of them. The weasel is attached to the ball with a single nylon string, if this toy is going to break, this will be the first thing to break.

But anyway, this toy is a hit. Makes we wonder again how clueless sometimes the parents are about what really is fun for the kids. Just like how clueless me and my wife were when one time we bought a rather expensive toy gift for Christmas that we thought he would really enjoy. It turned out he played more with the box than the toy itself.

SYMA 3 Channel S013 Mini UH-60 Black Hawk RC Helicopter —NEW! I like this helicopter. It has true 3 axis proportional control. It’s durable: it has probably crashed 200 times in the ten hours I’ve flown it and it’s still in new condition. It can be flown indoors: in all those crashes I haven’t broken anything yet.

Information: it is very small and light; apparently it won’t tolerate a breeze outdoors. The controller takes 4 AA batteries. The controller plugs into the helicopter to charge it. You get about 5 to 10 minutes of flying time for 10 to 20 minutes of charging time.

Downsides: it takes a while to learn to control it. After ten hours I am just now able to fly with only a couple of crashes per flight.

Buyer advisory: only buy RC toys that have proportional control (small input/ small result, large input/ large result). RC toys that aren’t proportional are no fun, even for kids, because you can’t develop skill.

Simtec Fun Slides Carpet Skates – Silver I am not sure why these slides didn’t work for one reviewer, but it might have been her carpet. We have three different kinds of carpet at our house: Patterned berber, flat berber, and plush carpet. Surprisingly, the FunSlides worked much better on the plush carpet. I figured the flat berber would work best, but nope. The slides still slid around on berber, and berber is actually a good carpet for a non-skating child to start on. But… the fluffy, fuzzy, plush carpet works best. Also, the heavier the child, the better the slide (to a point–an obese child might end up smashing down the carpet too much for them to work).

We were snowed in for a long time here. The kids had fun indoors with this product. I used them and they really worked my thighs–I could really feel it.

Now, these don’t feel like regular skates, so if you are expecting that, you’ll be disappointed. It feels like socks on a just-waxed floor, or close to it. If you don’t like them, you’re not out of much money. Or you can buy the track to skate on and skip the carpet altogether.

Fisher Price Perfectly Pink Purse Grandma bought this for my baby when she was four months old and she loved it right away. At nearly nine months, it is still a favorite! She loves playing with it, especially the compact and the play money. I agree that the keys would be more fun if they were not all molded together, but it is a minor thing. All of the parts have seen HEAVY teething action and are still in great shape. I have also washed these items (not the purse itself, but the others) several times in hot soapy water in the sink and they bounced back just fine. As a mom, I love it because it is so portable. If we have to go out of town or to a playdate or something, it is easy to pack everything in the little purse and throw it in my diaper bag.
