Melissa & Doug Stamp and Sort Mailbox (New) I bought this for my 2 year old son, although I knew my 4 year old daughter would also enjoy it. They both enjoy playing with it, although they play in different ways. My son uses it as a typical shape sorter, trying to figure out in which slot each letter fits. My daughter, however, plays “mailman.” While the variety of play is somewhat limited, (which is why I gave it 4 stars) it is an excellent mailbox toy. Each “letter” is very sturdy and colorful and each has creative addressees, pictures, and text. The equally sturdy “stamps” can attach to any letter via Velcro and stay well. It has a learning aspect, because a letter will only fit in one of the slots, based on its size. The mailbox itself is very solid and sturdy and comes with an oversized “key” to open the door and remove the “mail.” I think it is a very good quality product and fun for younger children.

Melissa & Doug Sunny Patch Verdie Chameleon Watering Can This watering can from Melissa and Doug is adorable. I love that it’s a happy chameleon versus a butterfly or other over-done critter. Pretty heavy construction, it feels very solid. It also is pretty substantial in size and holds a fair amount of water. The hole in the top to fill is not very large, so our larger hose attachment doesn’t fit, which may be a little frustrating for kids trying to fill on their own.

Overall, very cute and functional for little hands to help with the garden.

Melissa & Doug Deluxe Magnetic Letters & Numbers in a Box Bundle I bought this set to help my son with his spelling words for school and it is excellent for that.
You can do it on the fridge or a Magnetic board which is what we use. He can sounds out the words put the letters that he thinks spells the word and if not just move it instead of erasing. The Magnetic strip on it is great and the case that it comes with keeps them safe.
I did have to put the capital letters in another case because it was hard to close with all the letters together.

Melissa & Doug Deluxe Stamp Set My four year old loves drawing and coloring. I bought this stamp set for her on a whim and she loves it, as I expected. She likes to stamp and then she colors the images with coloring pencils. This kit is not perfect though. It has only two colors of stamp ink, but she doesn’t mind that at all.

First, the kit has no cover. Melissa and Doug used to include plastic covers with their wooden sets and they stopped. I really don’t like this change. It affects all sorts of toys, not just this one, but without covers, we deal with more lost pieces.

Second, the stampers themselves are nice and solid but the pictures on the stampers are stickers and those stickers are starting to come off after only two weeks. The stampers are still usable but I am disappointed in the durability.

This is a 3.5 star item. The price is good. But I have a feeling that there are better quality stamp sets out there.

Melissa & Doug Wooden Train Cars Set I couldn’t believe how fast this little train set arrived at Devon’s house! I ordered it one day and before noon two days later, his mother called to tell me he was already playing with it–all over the floor, repeatedly jabbering “Choo-choo… Choo-choo.” Too-ooo cute.

This precocious, lovable little boy has always liked trucks, but recently branched out to firetrucks and trains, so Grandma just had to get him some starters. Yes, I bought him a firetruck, too, but that review will come later.

I chose Melissa & Doug Wooden Train Cars Set because Melissa and Doug are known for exceptional quality, value, kiddie-safe products. What more could I want.

We-ell, they were a few inches smaller than I thought they would be (from the photo); they could be a bit larger, but Devon isn’t complaining, so I won’t, either. I am happy when he is happy!

The jacket was a bit smaller than I thought. My son is four and is of average weight and the jacket is a little on the snug side. The helmet is adjustable. This has held up well to normal play. The cost is normally around thirty dollars.
