My daughter got this as a gift for her 6th birthday. She and her 7-year-old niece played it with for a few hours already. It would definitely be easier for 2 people. While one would push down on the levers, the other would hold onto the base to keep it from slipping. They were both able to manage all the parts. I had to show them how to twist the sprinkle part together, but after showing them twice, they were both able to do it without help.

Adorable set with plenty of different colored play dough and extra gadgets to attract little discoverers. My son has trouble pushing the head down to grow the hair on the monkey but loves using play dough scissors (purchased separately) to cut each strand. I showed him how to mold the dough into the little icons located around the base of the monkey. There are things like butterflies, flowers, bananas, etc. He likes mixing the dough colors to make different looking things. The tail-push, cymbol clap action is a cute idea but tough for an almost 3-year-old (age IS recommended for 3 & up)…we take off the cymbols and imprint the dough while it is on the table. A cute alternative that reminds me of the play dough barber shop that i had as a child…just a little more coco nutty.

My 3-year-old loves Play-Doh and had really wanted the scissors (he had used some in a church class). This was the only set I could find that included them that didn’t include a bulky container. The scissors don’t seem very well made (I expect it won’t take him long to break them), but regular blunt-tipped children’s scissors work great (wish I had thought of that before!). I think the price was good for all of the accessories as well as 4 tubs of Play-Doh. I just wish it was all made in the USA!
