Play-Doh Spongebob Playset We purchased this for my son because he is a huge SpongeBob fan and because he loves PlayDoh. He plays with this set often. It’s similar to a Mr Potato head, but with the torso being PlayDoh and the features being SpongeBob, of course. My only complaint is that it didn’t come with something to store the pieces in. The pineapple box is cute, but I would have liked to have had something to store the pieces in after opening the set, like most other PlayDoh sets include.

Play-doh Burger Builder Let me go on record right now as saying that I am not a huge Play Doh fan. I love the concept of Play Doh, and will absolutely agree that my children love playing with it, but I hate cleaning up after it and I hate when my children mix colors together. Another thing that really annoys me are the toys that you can get to go with the Play Doh. Most of the toys that we’ve had either break apart quickly, are basically worthless to play with, or are both!

This one, however, was a bit different. We purchased it for Christmas and it got played with the day after. And the day after that. And the day after that. And if you have children, that should tell you something. Of course my children love the toy because it’s simply fun to play with. Who doesn’t love to make burgers and fries? And let me get sidetracked for a moment – the chip maker? Simply genius. Not only does it actually work, slicing chips beautifully, but it is also fairly easy to clean, which is a miracle in the world of Play Doh toys!

The only reason I gave this four stars is because some of the colors of the Play Doh I’m guessing would be difficult to find – like the dark brown for the burger and the light brown for the buns. But they can always make purple burgers and orange buns and label it alien food, so I’m not too worried about not being able to find the colors. All in all? A great Play Doh toy that even people who don’t like Play Doh toys will enjoy.

Play-doh Case of Colors When I visited my granddaughters in Australia last year for their birthdays, I made room in my suitcase for this Play-Doh Case of Colors. I intended it for party favors, but one rainy afternoon when Mom was working and my son was busy in the kitchen I decided to get it out for the girls.

At four and six years old, they’re Play-Doh veterans and have a crate of little accessories to help with the fun. They were soon deep in the creative process, chatting all the while.

Drawing and modeling are windows into a child’s imagination. I was delighted with their spotted dogs, bright birds, little families in wearable-art clothing, and many items that truly defied categorizing. Their stories and conversation were even more charming. The little two-ounce tubs encouraged sharing and planning. What a happy memory for me!

At the end of the afternoon the Play-Doh was sorted by color and packed back into the tubs, to be used again but never in its pristine state. There’s something about brand-new Play-Doh, isn’t there?

It may have seemed silly to haul Play-Doh halfway around the world to a household that’s the world capital of children’s art supplies, but I’m glad I did — and my granddaughters were glad too. I’m a true fan of the Play-Doh Case of Colors.

My daughter got this as a gift for her 6th birthday. She and her 7-year-old niece played it with for a few hours already. It would definitely be easier for 2 people. While one would push down on the levers, the other would hold onto the base to keep it from slipping. They were both able to manage all the parts. I had to show them how to twist the sprinkle part together, but after showing them twice, they were both able to do it without help.

This is definitely a toy that you need to spend a few minutes cleaning before putting away. I used a plastic knife, and I was able to clean it up fairly thuroughly. We put all the add on pieces and playdoh into a gift bag and put it all on a shelf. It doesnt’ take up too much room, but it can’t be put back into the original box.

I would love it if the set would come apart to make cleaning and storing easier, but it wasn’t that big of a deal. Overall, I think this is fun. If your child is younger than 5 or 6, he/she will probably need your help while playing. Enjoy!

Adorable set with plenty of different colored play dough and extra gadgets to attract little discoverers. My son has trouble pushing the head down to grow the hair on the monkey but loves using play dough scissors (purchased separately) to cut each strand. I showed him how to mold the dough into the little icons located around the base of the monkey. There are things like butterflies, flowers, bananas, etc. He likes mixing the dough colors to make different looking things. The tail-push, cymbol clap action is a cute idea but tough for an almost 3-year-old (age IS recommended for 3 & up)…we take off the cymbols and imprint the dough while it is on the table. A cute alternative that reminds me of the play dough barber shop that i had as a child…just a little more coco nutty.

My 3-year-old loves Play-Doh and had really wanted the scissors (he had used some in a church class). This was the only set I could find that included them that didn’t include a bulky container. The scissors don’t seem very well made (I expect it won’t take him long to break them), but regular blunt-tipped children’s scissors work great (wish I had thought of that before!). I think the price was good for all of the accessories as well as 4 tubs of Play-Doh. I just wish it was all made in the USA!
